System Requirements
Netfitti is 100% Java, and is designed to run on on J2SE 1.5 or
greater (what's
that?). The Java Environment can be installed by following download links at: www.java.com.
Installation
- For the Macintosh: Double click the disk image
(NetfittiX_X.dmg)
file to open and mount the
disk onto the Desktop. Copy the Netfitti folder by dragging
and
dropping
it into a local location (such as the Applications folder).
- For Windows and other operating systems: Netfitti
comes as a Java Web Start application. Java must first be installed. Once Java is installed,
follow the Java Web Start link and the
application will self install and launch.
Additional notes for Windows: To view QuickTime
movies and
other compatible file formats, QuickTime must be
installed. The necessary files for QuickTime should be installed by the
QuickTime installer. The installer should place QTJava.zip in:
C:\Program Files\Java\jreXXXX\lib\ext\
where 'XXXX' is the version of the installed Java Runtine Environment
Additional notes to read PDF files:
To view Portable Document Files (PDF), PDF
Renderer must be installed. Netfitti will self-install PDF Renderer
when necessary. Once Netfitti has downloaded PDF Renderer into the Java
Library Extensions directory, quit the
application and restart.
Setup
Depending on
your network connection, some network setup
might be necessary.
