Installation Blah blah blah blah....we've saved the boring technical stuff for last. |
System Requirements This program is 100% Java, and is designed to run on on J2SE 1.4 or greater (huh? what's that?). This program has been tested on Macintosh and Windows. The Java Environment can be installed by following the download links at: www.java.com. Installation The game comes as a Java Web Start application or as a double-clickable Macintosh application. Installation is done by following the Java Web Start link (Java Web Start must already be installed) or copying the Macintosh application file to a local location. Starting a game When Leaf starts, you will have the option of connecting to existing games as a client or starting a new game as server. Notes for clients: A list of available game servers can be found here. Look at this page for available servers if for some reason they don't show up automatically in the client dialog box. This page is dynamically updated. Notes for servers: If you are running the server behind a firewall, you will need to change your firewall settings to allow incoming connections at the port number you specify. Otherwise Internet players will not be able to connect to your server. In addition, if you are on a local network with a router (such as a wireless router that shares your internet connection), you will need to set up port forwarding on the router to send packets to your server. Check the "Publicly accessible" box to make your server available to all Internet users if so desired. |
Enough! It's now
time to play the game!. |
